Resorts & Stays in Munnar — Curated Properties by VOYE HOMES
Munnar is one of Kerala's most loved hill stations — a place where mist settles on tea gardens at dawn, waterfalls cut through the Western Ghats, and the cool mountain air makes every breath feel like a reset. Whether you're planning a honeymoon, a family break, or a solo escape from city life, Munnar has a stay for you.
At VOYE HOMES, we manage 14+ hand-picked properties across Munnar and its surrounding micro-zones — from full-service resorts with swimming pools overlooking valley views, to heritage tea estate bungalows sitting quietly inside active plantations. Every property is personally verified and managed, so you're booking a real experience, not just a listing.
Why Munnar is Worth the Drive
Munnar sits roughly 1,600 metres above sea level in Idukki district, and its elevation shapes everything — the climate stays cool year-round, the landscapes change colour with every season, and the roads themselves are part of the experience. It's one of the few South Indian destinations where you can plan a trip in any month and find a reason to go.
The destination draws very different kinds of travellers: couples who want a quiet hillside retreat, families looking for a mix of nature and activity, groups chasing tea plantation photography and trekking, and travellers from hotter cities — Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kochi — who simply want cool air for a few days.
What makes staying here distinct from a city hotel is the setting. A resort in Munnar doesn't just offer a bed — it offers a specific view, a specific silence, and proximity to things you can't experience indoors.
Our Munnar Properties — By Staying Style
We've grouped our 14 Munnar properties by what kind of traveller they suit best, so you can find the right fit quickly.
Resorts with Swimming Pools
If you want a swimming pool with a view of the Munnar hills, these properties deliver exactly that — cool mountain air, warm water, and no one else's noise.
Heritage Tea Bungalows
These are VOYE HOMES' most distinctive Munnar stays — plantation bungalows sitting inside or beside working tea estates. Quiet, atmospheric, and unlike any resort experience.
Resort Stays Near Kanthallur
Kanthallur is about 35 km from Munnar town, sitting above 1,800 metres — even cooler, even quieter, and less crowded. It's a micro-destination worth knowing about.
Natural attractions worth a morning
Munnar is genuinely a year-round destination, though each season offers something different. Here's what to expect:
October to March — Peak season
The clearest skies, best trekking conditions, and ideal weather for outdoor sightseeing. Honeymoon bookings peak here, as do family holiday groups. Book ahead — our properties fill up, particularly over December and January.
April to June — Summer escape
When the plains swelter, Munnar stays comfortably cool. This is when a lot of travellers from Bangalore, Chennai, and Kochi come up specifically to escape the heat. Less crowded than the winter peak, and a good time for photography.
July to September — Monsoon season
The landscape turns intensely green. Waterfalls are at full flow, the tea gardens glow, and the mist is dramatic. Some roads and trekking trails become inaccessible. Not for everyone, but if you love moody hill station weather, this is actually a beautiful time to visit. Our pool properties are great in the rain.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which VOYE HOMES resort in Munnar have swimming pools?
Eight of our 14 Munnar properties have swimming pools: The Saray Munnar, Ice Mist Resort, Ice Cliff Resort, Areva Inn, Gardenia Resort Munnar, Munnar Ice Pellets Resort, Cool Nest Pool Villa, and Ministers Mansion Kanthallur. Most pools overlook the valley or surrounding hills, making them especially enjoyable in the early morning and evening.
What is the difference between a resort and a tea bungalow stay in Munnar?
Our resorts are multi-room properties with staff, on-site restaurants, and amenities like pools and recreation areas — well-suited for families or groups wanting a full-service experience. Tea bungalows are smaller, private stays inside working plantations — quiet, atmospheric, and more self-contained. We have four tea estate stays in Munnar, each suited to travellers who want a more intimate, nature-immersed experience.
Is Munnar suitable for a honeymoon trip?
Yes — Munnar is one of the most popular honeymoon destinations in South India for a reason. The combination of cool climate, misty landscapes, plantation views, and the availability of private pool villas and bungalows makes it well-suited for couples. October to March is the most popular period, but April-June is quieter and equally pleasant.
How many days should we plan for a Munnar trip?
Two to three nights is enough to cover the main sightseeing (Eravikulam, Top Station, Pothamedu, Mattupetty) with time to relax at your property. If you're combining Munnar with Thekkady or Vagamon, three to four nights makes the drive worthwhile. Tea bungalow guests often stay longer because the property itself is part of the experience.
Are there luxury options in Munnar or is it mostly budget stays?
Both. Our Munnar portfolio covers a range from ₹2,000 per night (Gardenia Resort) to ₹8,000+ (CKD Luxury Tea Bungalow, The Saray Munnar). The tea bungalows and private pool villas sit at the higher end and offer a level of privacy and setting that large resorts cannot match. We'd call it experiential luxury rather than hotel luxury.
Can we drive to Munnar from Kochi or Bangalore?
Yes. Munnar is approximately 130 km from Kochi (3–4 hours depending on traffic) and around 450 km from Bangalore (7–8 hours). The Kochi–Munnar drive through the Ghats is scenic. Nearest airport is Cochin International (COK). We can help arrange transfers if needed — contact us when you book.
